Hello there! My name is Erin Gilbert and I am currently the Director of Communications for the Marist Brothers Province of the United States. I graduated from DePaul University in June 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with double majors in Public Relations and Advertising and Relational Communication.

Through the work I did while in school in both of my Major programs at DePaul, various internship experiences, and now the first few years in a Communications Director position, I've grown especially interested in Public Relations. I enjoy learning about the evolution of audience engagement trends from traditional media to social media, and have recently been focusing on other public relations interests I've been able to explore including crisis communications and corporate social responsibility/ethics

I’ve been able to explore web design as it relates to communication and entrepreneurship and in my current role my favorite responsibility is making and updating Province websites and social media accounts.

Through my major programs in school I was able to explore Intercultural Communications, which has become a passion of mine in the years since. I have done research projects about DePaul's campus diversity and bullying in Chicago and how that has now began manifesting online as well as in person. During my senior year of college I had the opportunity to travel to Jamaica for an intercultural communications study abroad to focus on research of racism, sexism, and the social media space as it relates from Jamaica to the United States.

In my work life and in my personal life I am constantly 'plugged in' to the internet and exploring what is new in the online world. Aside from working, I spend most of my time exploring my new neighborhood with my friends and family. Chicagoland amazes me because even after living in a city for years there are always new places to see or restaurants to try! Feel free to email me or contact me on any of my social media links below!
